So many fun movie quotes ran through my mind as I sat at my sewing machine while I whipped this little number up! This girlie got so many compliments on her costume the last several parties we’ve been to, that Halloween tomorrow will not disappoint! Ivy has known what her costume would be this year since March with no question, and I was so excited to make it for her! (this is one of my favorite movies of all time!)
The dress was a pattern I bought off of a blog called One Little Minute (here) and is made out of pale pink cotton fabric. It has a pull-across, button closure with a collar and slightly puffed sleeves. The pattern comes with the ability to make a belt, and with printable patches, but I opted out of using those, as I just needed the pattern for the dress!
The skirt, which is attached is a simple circle skirt pattern and I love the belt loops to complete the outfit. We borrowed a pair of red baseball socks and a real red belt to look more legit… and her brother’s old cleats fit perfectly!
The patch on the arm is a licensed patch and I couldn’t find anywhere to buy that official patch, so I had to make my own. I did use the printable image to create a home-made version of a patch, and I’ll share how I did it in a future post. The Rockford Peach on her chest and the R patch on her hat I purchased off of etsy. (here) the quality of the patches are great, and I love the vintage look they have to them, but I was really disappointed in how long they took to arrive.
This one’s a keeper, folks! I may have to make myself one of these in the future!
