Hi there! I’m Erin and I blog over at Sewbon about sewing and DIY. I’m so excited to be here today and I wanted to give Jen a big congratulations on her newest addition to the family! Welcome baby Isabella!
It seems like all of my friends are pregnant right now, so when I saw this adorable (and FREE!) top knot baby hat pattern by Make It and Love It, I knew it would be a perfect baby shower gift. Isn’t the knot the cutest?
The pattern piece provided is an image that you copy and paste into a word document. Then, you modify the margins, resize the image, and print. It’s a little different than the typical PDF patterns I’ve used before, but it was easy to figure out and get printed in the right size.
I used my serger to assemble the hats, but per the tutorial, a zig-zag switch would work great too.
The tutorial was really easy and straight forward to follow. It’s such an quick sew that I was able to make these two adorable hats in a half hour, including cutting! I think this might be my new, go-to, DIY baby shower gift!
I can’t wait to see my friends baby in the hats once she’s born!
Thanks so much for having me today! I’d love it if you’d come visit me over at Sewbon to check out my sewing and DIY tutorials. Here are some of my faves:
