I was given this laminate entry table by a friend after she moved. I took it thinking that I’d eventually fix it up, or at least paint it to make it cute. Well, I’ve had it for 2 years, and it still sat untouched–until I came across the FolkArt Home Decor Chalk and Home Decor Wax. As Chalk paint is all the rage every where, and it boasts the “no-priming or sanding necessary” I was so excited to give it a try! Have you seen this on the shelves in your local craft store?
Well, the new Plaid product gave me the needed motivation to turn the ugly fake-wood colored entry table into this cute new piece!
The step-by-step process easy! I wiped the table down with a damp rag to get rid of dust and dirt, etc and taped off the top of the table with Painter’s Tape. Once it dried, I used a paintbrush to brush on 2 layers of the Chalk paint. It was fun to paint with: it felt a little like I was painting with thick pudding! After the two coats of paint dried, I followed the directions on the Wax label, and put a coat of that one as well.
I’m thrilled with how the piece turned out! It’s so fun the way a fresh coat of paint can brighten up any project!
