Burlap Outdoor Pillow

We’ve got about 10 days until Halloween, and in the midst of sewing up costumes for the kids (my last of three is coming up tomorrow) I still like to make a couple of new decorations for the house.

I’ve seen these ’31’ pillows around town a couple of times, I love them, and decided that my red bench outside nestled in with pumpkins and ghosts is really an eye-sore.  It’s not going anywhere, but I thought I’d add a little black to the bench with an outdoor throw pillow.  I had left-over black burlap from my {banner}, of course I had some white paint, so I cut out a 31 with my Cricut (using the Black Letter font) and made a quick envelope pillow using {this method…only I cut about a 15″ square for the pillow}

And then instead of using a pillow form for outside, I just stuffed it full of plastic grocery bags.  That way, if it gets wet, it’s Ok…and when Halloween has come and gone, I can reuse my bags, and store my pillow flat.
see you tomorrow!
