Chair-Back Valentine Envelope Knock-off

A couple of years ago, I made some PBkids knock-off chair-back Valentine envelopes for my 2 kids.
Pottery Barn’s are way smaller, and are lined with cotton fabric, but otherwise, they are pretty close.
Every day, for the first 14 days of february, I’d stash a little something inside the envelope: ingredients for a recipe, or supplies for a craft, a bag of fruit snacks, or whatever… and then on Valentines day, they each get a book, and some other random treat to make them smile.
So, this year, I thought I’d post a tutorial on how I made my envelopes…I was making one for my new kiddo-to-be, anyway!  It’s a super simple project, and we’ve loved them over the last couple of years!
I hope you enjoy!

3 x (171/2″ x 13″) of Felt
2 x (flap pieces) of same color felt click {here} for pattern
2 x (20″ x 1 1/2″) for straps (I used contrasting felt that matched my ricrac
3 yds or ricrac (you could probably get away with 2 1/2…but I bought 3, just in case!
2 hearts (pattern with the flap pattern)
Felt for Names (same color as straps and ricrac)
(I used my cricut to cut out templates for each of my letters, and I used my Sans Serif Cartridge, on Shadow at 3 1/2″, in case you wondered.) 🙂

16. Lastly, just handstitch a running stitch around the perimeter of the envelope and the flap.  Done!
