fun in the sun(dress) 4th of July style: Stars and Spots Forever

Happy {fourth} of July!
I love this holiday…it’s smack dab in the middle of summer; full of cook-outs, parades, bike rides, friends and family.
Where we live now, the holiday has only gotten better!  We have a fun parade within walking distance that the whole town shuts down to take part in or watch, and along the parade path, houses are decorated to the hilt with summery red white & blue and stars & stripes!  Not to mention the fireworks show off the pier.  I had to make ivy a fun dress to wear in such an all-american town!
the pattern I used for this dress was from our fabulous sponsor, Brynnberlee Sewing Patterns.
Again, I loved how easy the dress went together, I was able to completely make this dress from cut to hem in 2 hours.  My favorite part is the tie on the back…you slip the straps through a button-hole {or a couple, as I did} and tie a knot or a bow.I loved the idea, and is exactly why I wanted to try out this pattern!
…and does it get any american than this?
a dog on a front porch swing with flip-flops and a red, white & blue sundress?
Have a fun and safe holiday!
God Bless America!
**thanks to Kathleen and Jerry for letting me use their beautiful home! {and their dog!}
and to Hoppers for the fun accessories…Ivy loves them!
